Choose a tool, then drag on the grid. The Grid tool shows grid visibility, snapping, size and scale controls in the bottom panel. Click the Circle tool to open its Circle/Ellipse menu. The Line tool menu offers Straight Line (click start and end, or drag), Curved Line (click start, control point, then end), and Multi-line Shape (click to start each new line, then double-click or press Enter to complete the shape). Escape cancels unfinished lines. Hold Shift for squares or constrained shapes. For text, choose Text and click anywhere on the drawing. Type at the caret, then press Enter or click elsewhere to place the text. Escape cancels. Choose the font and formatting in the bottom panel.
Select an object to move it. The Align to grid icon offers Automatic (the nearest grid direction for the longest edge), Horizontal and Vertical. It straightens the edge and snaps it to the nearest grid line. Drag its corner handles to resize both dimensions, or its edge handles to change width or height. Hold Shift to preserve proportions; Escape cancels the drag. Text resizes proportionally. Drag the blue handle above the selection to rotate smoothly; hold Shift for 15° steps. Use the bottom tool icons to duplicate, rotate, resize, recolour or change its layer. The Fill panel offers Colour fill, Gradient fill and Stroke colour. Choose the colour or gradient, then apply it to the selected shape or click a shape. Stroke colour sets the colour for new lines and shapes. Print Preview toggles a dashed grey print-area guide on the drawing; move objects inside it before printing. The Gradient tool opens the Gradient Fill dialog with a live preview, start/end colour pickers, Gradient Steps and three direction buttons. Apply Gradient prepares the fill; select Fill and click inside a shape to use it. Cancel keeps the previous gradient.
Save creates a standard editable .svg file for SVG editors. SchoolDraw can reopen its own SVG files as separate objects, and still opens older .sdraw files. Open provides the original device and cloud drawing browsers. SVG files changed in another editor open as scalable artwork objects instead of silently restoring stale editing data. The Unsaved Changes dialog asks before replacing current work. PNG export creates a bitmap. Import opens the original source chooser: This Device, SVGRepo icon search, Pixabay, and cloud drawings when signed in. SVG, PNG, JPEG, GIF, BMP and WebP files can be added to the drawing. Imported SVG remains scalable vector artwork with gradients, treated as one artwork object; its internal shapes and text are not individually editable in this edition. This session is temporary. Confirming refresh, closing this page or leaving it clears the drawing and app-owned browser data. Save a file or cloud copy to keep your work.
Shortcuts: Ctrl/⌘ Z undo, Shift Ctrl/⌘ Z redo, Ctrl/⌘ S save, Delete remove selection, Escape cancel a gesture, arrow keys move selection (Shift for 10 units). Tab reaches all controls.
This edition works locally. Use Sign in to connect your registered school account and open or save in Google Drive or OneDrive. Groups remain together until Ungroup is chosen. Advanced print settings are not yet available. Select All (Ctrl/⌘ A with Select active) selects every object; drag a selected outline to move the selection. Copy, duplicate, fill, formatting and Delete apply to all selected objects, with locked objects protected.

Drawings are stored in your existing MyDrawings folder. SVG files preserve editable Rust data. Save uses your chosen filename and asks before replacing an existing drawing.
